Louis Vuitton's rise to the top. Sailing, flying, travelling, and leading the luxury market. by Jules Sabah As you may have noticed at C•L•O•S•E•T , one thing seems to us essential: the values of the brands we represent. We try to reflect a fashion heritage that continues to grow and change over time. For this edition of the C•L•O•S•E•T blog, we look back at the journey of the famous Parisian trunk maker who has become the leader in French fashion. DID YOU KNOW? Louis Vuitton ready-to-wear was born at the dawn of the 2000s. FUN FACT 1 - It is from 1855 that the Parisian brand will revolutionize the world of travel, with the invention of the flat trunk. FUN FACT 2 - In 1985, the Parisia n trunk-maker was founded abroad, opening a shop in London and New York. Sailing, Flying, Travelling, these are the words that the French Couture House uses to design its value of being. But they are also the founding pillars of the emblematic LV monogram. At the beginning of the 2000s, Marc Jacobs became the artistic director of the ready-to-wear line. It was from that moment on that the prestigious French leather goods manufacturer became one of the must-haves to be followed closely season after season. In 2013, Nicolas Ghesquière took his place within the Couture House to give birth to what seems to be a second youth concerning the fashion line of this empire. Nicolas finds the perfect balance between chic, casual, and sportswear. Still, he is ready to do whatever it takes to go to any event, work, business, or other while staying at his best. Louis Vuitton has set itself apart from its competitors with its visionary spirit by diversifying into ready-to-wear, jewelry, watches and cosmetics, but also by creating connected luxury products for a generation thirsting to build a future with a history. Their strength? A recognizable monogram among a thousand others, making you too want to live the Louis Vuitton experience.
